Banana Cake with Chocolate Sauce

This recipe I adapted from cookbook by chef Hanieliza with a little adjustment on the banana cake ingredients.The texture is wonderfully soft, moist and fluffy. Very easy cake to make, I guess.  Since bananas go so well with chocolate, so I decided to make chocolate sauce and drizzle on top of the cake and sprinkle it with icing sugar.. and the result was yummy yum yum cake but  the cake design was terrible. I think it's time for me to attend cake designing class to get some basic knowledge.


Ingredients

Banana Cake

1 cup ripe bananas, mashed
180 g butter
160 g brown sugar
3 eggs
1/2 cup fresh milk
250 g plain flour, sifted
1 tsp baking powder, sifted
1 tsp soda bicarbonate, sifted


Chocolate sauce

1 cup condense milk
60 g butter
50 g cocoa powder


Methods
  1. In large mixing bowl, beat butter and brown sugar until creamy using electric mixture. 
  2. Add in the eggs and fresh milk and mix well.
  3. Add the mashed bananas, plain flour, baking powder and soda bicarbonate and mix well.
  4. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan, smoothing the top.
  5. Bake in 180C or 375F on preheated oven for about 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center of the cake comes out clean.
  6. Remove and cool on a wire rack. 
  7. When completely cool, drizzle it with chocolate sauce.

Preparing Chocolate Sauce
  1. Using a double boiler technique ( heatproof bowl placed over a saucepan of simmering water), combine all ingredients and stir the mixture until it is very well combine and smooth. remove from heat and let cool to room temperature.
