Homemade Garam Masala

4 tbsp coriander
2 tbsp cumin
1 tbsp black peppercorns
2 tsp cardamom seeds
12 cm cinnamon stick
1 tsp cloves
1 nutmeg
Methods
- Measure and make all the ingredient ready. In a heavy skillet on a low heat, gently roast all ingredients separately except the nutmeg.
- Stir occasionally and make sure the spices does not burn.
- When spices are roast, remove from heat and allow to cool.
- Using electric grinder, grind all the spices together to a fine powder.
- Store it in an airtight container in a cool dark place and always make sure to close the lid tightly after each use.
